The first day of school in Room 122 was a success! During our "End of the Day Routine" several students commented that today felt like a short day!
Before we packed up, I asked students to draw pictures and write about the first day. Here are some highlights:
- Many students drew pictures about playing with friends at recess. Examples: playing soccer, swinging on the tire swing.
- One student wrote, "I found out that most of my class loves pizza!"
- Science
- Animals
- The United States
- Reading
- Math
When asked what they needed to remember for tomorrow, here is what they named:
- Have fun
- Homework
- Sign-in
- Happiness
Thank you for your time and support!
Ms. Postma

Dear Families,
I trust you all had some time to relax and enjoy the summer! I had a wonderful summer with family and friends, and this past week I had fun getting Room 122 ready for the 2018 - 2019 school year. Yes, I am excited to begin the school year on Tuesday, September 4, 2018!
For the first day of school, please let your child know that he or she should go directly to Room 122 and bring his or her school supplies and backpack to the classroom. After some input from the children, I will be assigning hallway lockers later in the day.
If for any reason you cannot locate your child's "Supply List," I have attached a copy of it in this email. Please don't hesitate to be in touch if you have any questions regarding the supplies.
Last but not least, I look forward to meeting many of you at Curriculum Night on Thursday, September 6th. Curriculum Night begins at 7:00 PM and we will be wrapping things up at 8:00 PM.
Thank you for your time. I am eager to be your child's teacher, and I look forward to creating an educational partnership with you and your child.
Best regards,
Sharon Postma

As you read their news worthy articles about math, reading, science, social studies and Open Circle, I trust you will gain insight of the effort and learning that has been happening in Room 122.
